St. James School

SCHOOL AIMS

As a family school with a caring Christian ethos, we welcome pupils and parents and hope that all children will find fulfilment, happiness and stimulation here and that both parents and pupils will always feel an integral part of the school community.

We aim to satisfy pupils' individual intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional needs as well as preparing them for a world where they should be helped to become active participants in society and responsible contributors to it.

The values of Christianity and examples of Christian teaching will aim to provide a framework for a school where children care for each other and are helped to understand the world in which they live and the interdependence of others.

SCHOOL ORGANISATION

The school currently operates on a basic two class structure with one small Year 3/4 class and one small Year 5/6 class, althought Years 5 and 6 in particular are often spilt into age appropriate groups. We currently offer perhaps the best pupil teacher ratio of any school in the area.
WHERE ARE WE?
The school is situated in Shirley, close to the Stratford Road, behind the Post Office and St. James Church. It is approximately two miles from the centre of Solihull and is also convenient to reach from Birmingham and other surrounding areas.

The well equipped building is set in attractive grounds which include extensive fields and a large playground with seating area.

The school has extensive ICT facilities, including interactive whiteboards and broadband internet in all classrooms, in addition to a well equipped computer suite.
